Talking to Evan by voice
Hold the microphone in Evan’s composer and speak; let go to send. Your words show as you speak, and what Evan heard appears before he answers. A quick tap does nothing: hold it while you talk. If the microphone is blocked or nothing is heard, Evan says so, and you can type instead.
Voice uses your browser’s own speech recognition. Some browsers, Chrome among them, send the audio to their maker to turn it into words. Keel never receives or keeps a recording, only the words, and they are deleted when you delete the conversation.
Evan speaks only in a voice conversation you started, or when you choose Read replies aloud. Mute stops it at once and stays on for this device; Replay says the last reply again, and the words are always on screen too. Your voice is never used to sign you in or to prove who you are.
For now Evan speaks in your device’s own voice, so he can sound different on a phone and on a computer. Dates, amounts and times are given to that voice in words it says clearly, and help numbers digit by digit.
